Great story but what I think I liked more than the story was the authors growth in style, content and flow! I think she truly listened to her readers from her first novel and delivered a much more fine tuned book!
Mags had just learned the horrible truth about her husbands death in Crashing Back Down and now she has to struggle once again with her heart. Can she forgive Walker and continue to follow her hearts desire to love again? Walker is a bit of a girl but I think his struggles are his own and no one could understand them in Crashing Back Down. We were in the dark about exactly what was his issue. We are thrown right into the mess in this book and you can see why the man is messed up in his own way!
But Mags wasn't the only person with the drama in this book! I loved how we also got more of the side story with Mitch, Cat, Buck, and Walker's family. I thought this solidified their connections and how much they meant to each other and how important their roles were to Mags. In Crashing Back Down they seemed put on the back burner and only popped up when Mags needed a pat on the back or someone to hold her hand.
Overall, I definitely felt the heart tug a few times in this book. I was angry, sad, confused and much more emotionally connected with the characters. I also loved how the storyline flowed nicely with out random interruptions making the book a faster and easier read!
It always a pleasure to see such improvement in new authors as they write their first series. Makes you excited to read more in the future!
